Yeah its 2016, but anyway… the candidate cities are already chosen.
    Chicago, USA
    Madrid, Spain
    Rio de Janeiro, Brasil
    Tokyo, Japan
I’d like Tokyo to get it because it’s such a different culture! Okay, Madrid would be nice to, and Rio could be good. I just think the US hosts the Olympics too much, and that we need to see them in other countries more often!
Also, the IOC was thinking that the 2020 games might be somewhere in Africa….

Whichever city it is better be wealthy. That arrogant, pompous idiot Rogge (head of the IOC) has said, during the last week, that London (planning to spend £9 billion) has a budget that is too small to “meet the needs of the athletes”.
Makes you wonder what exactly constitutes a “need” for those pampered super sportsmen and women.
In my view it is long past time that the IOC put a realistic expenditure cap on hosting cities. “Do your best – but you cannot spend more than (say) £5 billion.” The constant demand for each host to outdo its predecessors in their presentation makes the whole exercise unjustifiably expensive.
When he comes to England in 2012, it is my dearest wish that Rogge be put up in the grottiest B & B in the entire British Isles. After all, he is not an athlete, and, therefore, has no need for the outstanding facilities and accommodations they will “need”.

Host City bids are open now, Chicago has won bid rights for USA. Currently there are no other “official” entries. Cities have until Sept. 15th to file a bid application with the IOC. The final choice will be made by the IOC in October, 2009 when the IOC announces the final bids and votes are tallied.
Chicago’s rivals in the 2016 competition likely will include Rio de Janeiro, Madrid, Rome, Tokyo and Prague, Czech Republic.

Perhaps you mean 2016 as an olypiad is a 4 year term. I think the games should be permanantly based in Athens as this was the city of their inception. It would get rid of the politizing of the games as well.
