Do you like it or is it a waste of nearly half a million pounds that could have been better spent!

It’s so embarrasing for London, a city with so much talent. The London Olympic committee should be completely embarassed especially with Lord Coe’s words describing the emblem as “ambitious, interactive and youth-friendly”. It is utterly wretched and the money wasted!!! There must be an investigation into a horrible decision!!

    Hi!
    It’s ABSOLUTE sh*te!
Instead of spending all our hard earned taxes they should have gone round the schools and colleges and got some of the students to make suggestions. What a fantastic opportunity that would have given some young people.
Then say the best ten could have gone to the public vote.
A bit like ‘Logo Idol’ !
However, although the majority of the country seems to agree with me, I fear it’s gonna be with us now for the duration!

It’s awful. In fact, no. Awful isn’t nearly strong enough a word. it’s 10 thousand times worse than awful. And as for Lord Coe saying we’ll grow to love it, well Sebastian I’ve got a challenge for you. If you’re really so happy with the logo, and prepared to stand by it, I challenge you to go get a tattoo of it.

  4. Vincent says:

    it’s pretty ugly.

  5. welcome. says:

what a waste of money. everyone should boycote the national lottery dream number draw as thats where they get money from for crap like that

  6. Brillian says:

    Its great!!
A funny pink flashy thing that shows neither London, the UK nor the Olympics!
    God who hired those people?
Give me half an hour and mine would be better.

  7. Rosa says:

what the hell is that ?!
There is actually an online poll and I have already voted…here´s the link:http://news.uk.msn.com/london_2012_logo.…

  8. Alfie says:

Looks like a job from an 14-yr-old art college student entry portfolio. Pointless rubbish. You could get half a dozen real motifs for selection for a hundredth of what was paid for that crackpot design. Our money, by the way! And no doubt it’s already being put up for design awards! How mad can you get.

  9. dana_osm says:

Looks sorta like the Nazi emblem

  10. i,m here if you need to talk. says:

the one for the canada 2010 olmmpic also sucks as well.

  11. Phoebe says:

It’s ugly! I know plenty of graphic designers who could have done a much better job!

  12. darkjagu says:

I don’t like it at all. As a studier of Olympic facts, I think this logo was kinda rushed. Its pretty much an eyesore in my point of view.

  13. redcherr says:

Yes it is! just how ugly is it? it can’t get uglier then that, believe me mate.

  14. Priya says:

    one word – EUGH!!!!!!

  15. ♥ Issy ♥ says:

I think that its quite exciting and all
    BUT
The money would of MUCH better been given to charity
Or at least spent of healthcare, schools ect.

  16. Indy500 says:

What an absolutely criminal waste of taxpayers cash. WHO is responsible? They should be shot by the British Archery Team…

  17. Andy F says:

How can it cost 500k to design and end up looking like it was designed by a baby with a box of crayons………
Time to sack the design team, me thinks

  18. Smile says:

    OK.
A bit cheesy… Sorry I just think that the money could have been used to help the one million children in the UK who live in poverty or people who cannot have certain drugs because the NHS cannot afford it.
    That’s just my oppinion though…….

  19. Daredevi says:

Clearly the new London Olympic Logo is unpopular, but no doubt the Olympic Committee will re-buff my comments to justify the ridiculous waste of money getting it designed in the first place etc. Why didn’t anyone think about setting up a competition for logo entries, which could be short-listed down to approx 3 logos, in which the final winner is chosen via a National UK phone vote (at say 25p per call) and all the proceeds raised going into the Olympic budget? This is a practical way of using democracy & business together to reduce harsh criticism, getting people interested and of course raising money for a worthwhile Olympic cause. Quite why they need to employ consultants is beyond my comprehension! I appreciate that such an idea may be too radical or dynamic for their overpaid UN-dynamic bureaucrats to comment on, but nonetheless, I would be interested to hear from them. My concluding thoughts… “What a wasted opportunity!”

I think there must be something wrong with my computer and it’s displaying incorrectly. On my machine, it looks like someone has dropped some pink post it notes on the desk and said that was it!

  21. olliedog says:

The whole shebang is a waste of money, so the logo suits the uselessness of the entire 2012 fiasco. The logo is grotesque – means nothing

  22. COLIN M says:

This effin’ logo is less than 24 hours old , is there anyon else apart from me who is totally pissed off about people asking the same boring question about it?
