A logo is supposed to get a message across. Quickly and simply. You are supposed to recognise the organisation that it represents in an instant. For instance the McDonald’s golden arches, BT, KFC, Apple, Virgin etc.
This mish mash of a logo is a nightmare and fails to meet any of the aforementioned.
It is childish (no insult meant to children), confusing and totally and utterly un-British. These designers must be so far up themselves they have lost daylight as well as the plot. Stick to the script!

What Do You Think Of The Logo For The London 2012 Olympics?

Tape a paintbrush to my willie, suspend me horizontally from a crane and swing me about a few times. Then, Voila !, you have yourselves the olympic logo. Yes, that absurdity just about sums up the Games being held in London, and THAT logo.
Bizarre
Second-rate design work! I know Wolff Olins can do a lot, lot better than this. No idea what it was trying to represent until I read that it’s supposed to be the date ’2012′ Really?! – looks like something that got shattered or maybe the designer was ‘shattered’ too at the time. It’s an awful representation and an embarassement to England. The Olympic Committee was sold a pup.
total waste of money if u ask me..
Hi it’s differnent but not striking enough
Well I find it most interesting. It seems to be saying disjointed and disunited London presents the 2012 Olympic games, all the parts are moving in different directions yet somehow we will make it work.I think its all to do with our island mentality not having vast acreages to run to we have to make do with our cliques which whether we like it or not are interdependant on each other.
sorry, i do not like it – when I first glanced at it I thought it reminded me of Hitlers SS symbol used during WW2….
You are the fifth person to ask in 2 hours – it’s rubbish.
well this the logo that represents
uk for the olympic games and the paralympic
if this the best godness knows what’s the worst
it look’s neither something or nothing a total an utter piece of garbage
too complicated
Not easily decipherable, not keen
Absolutely awful, quite, quite appalling.
I like it. We’re talking about the one with the ribbon going through the letters right? I think it looks cool.
