When do they officially decide the teams for the London 2012 Olympics? When are the track and field trials? Thanks!

It is up each of the national olympic committees to set the date for who represents their country in their sports. The 2012 track and field trials will be held in Eugene, Oregon. Using the 2008 track and field trials as a template, there was a 5 week difference between the end of the US Track and Field Olympic Trials (June 27 to July 6th) and the start of the Summer Olympics (Aug 8-24). While there is no announced date yet, expect the 2012 track and field trails to take place in mid-June (say around June 14th to June 24th 2012) give or take a week.
