So, what do you think? Do you think the London 2012 Olympics will turn out to be a big flop, or deserve a standing ovation? Well…the government have spent a little bit over budget (little?) so I’m expecting something grande…

    this recession.

Forget the rest, now comes the best…LONDON !
First of all, London will not and does not have to ‘top’ China, each games is unique in its own right, why copy ? No, The London games will be all about triumph, hard work, and spotsmanship , London has nothing to prove , wheareas China had a point to prove, and it did that… At the end of the day, it should not be all about putting on a great show, but that’s the world in which we live in unfortunately, and when a lot of money is at stake, and no one wants to lose face, you have to do what you gotta do ! ( ! ) to be the best( we don’t need to look at passports, birth certificates, blood samples etc, yes I know cheats exisit, but’s the way things are, doctors are as much to blame as the athletes, coaches sponsors putting pressure on everyone to succeed at all costs, I daresay I will get a caning for that previous statement..! One thing is the spectacle, the other is the competition, the olympics ( modern games ) have come a long way, and I believe that there will be a return to the values of the games in 2012, unlike with the previous spectacle last year. Yes, We in London may have to eat & drink bread & water for quite a while after, if the budget is tight, ( it’s not totally paid for yet, there’s what comes after the games that pre-occupies me ! ) , but one thing’s for sure, The UK’s athletes are going for GOLD, at a very high cost, and if the infrastructure is in place, then after the games has come and gone, at least we will have something, like the Chinese to look back on, but without have had to prove it could have been done…Party like it’s 2012 !!!

It’s kinda too early to tell on the delivering aspect. But from what i’m seeing now, the Olympic organisers are on track on building terms – they are already building the roof of the Main Stadium and have started on the Velodrome and the Aquatics Centre wave shaped roof. They are going to spend about £60m on security which sounds promising and are beginning to negotiate the Ceremonies as we speak. They have also got six top Business Suppliers to stage a ‘great’ Games. As far as i’m thinking – So far so good. But the recession isn’t over yet so you never know what’s to come in the next few years – but good luck to them! And i really hope they don’t let the Country down!

i think its going to be a success but not if people are going to be negative over it you say i dont think anyhting could top china but chinas fireworks were fake computer images and the littel girl singing well that werent even her singing so basically it was mostly fake i reckon it will be good:)

  5. hawaii39 says:

Success but the British wanted to make the Olympics simple, trying not to top Beijing.
The Chinese worked hard for it to make it the greatest Olympics ever in world history. I think the Beijing Olympics would be the envy of any past Olympics.

  6. SpankyMc says:

    Failure

  7. Paul says:

    Failure.
    Its already over budget
The biggest reason it will be a failure is because it is been held in England

  8. The One says:

Do you think we can match what other countries do,They are or are going to rip into tax payers money. We cant cope now with traffic or public transport now whats it going to be like during the games.

  9. Clarissa says:

I don’t think anything could top China last year, but I’m sure it will still be great!

  10. brogdenu says:
