No, running the Olympics has become far too expensive. There are far too many sports contested, some of them not really sports in my view, certainly not consistent with the original Olympic ideal, strongest, fastest, highest, longest. Also, many of the specially built facilities, in Greece for example, simply go to rack and ruin afterwards.
Good or bad, the IOC has made the decision, & it will take place. London is a terrific city & already has many of the needed venues. It will be a tourist draw, as if London isn’t already a prime destination!!
