Check with USA badminton at the link below. They organize Olympic trials usually two years before the games.http://www.usabadminton.org/

Most of the Olympic sports have a qualifying process, trials or other competition while others are selected based upon their recent performances.
These trials are NOT open competitions. To be invited to these events, you must be an active competitor with some kind of status in the event such as a national ranking, listed performance (such as a race time) in a recognized competition.
Depending on the sport, 2 or 3 athletes are selected or win a place on the team.
For more information, check with the governing body that organizes the sport in the US. For example, Track is run by USA Track & Field.

If you are serious, I recommend going to Denmark to join a professional league. Many badminton players go there and as far as outside of Southeast Asia, is the most competitive country for badminton. There you are treated like a star.

Specifics for 2012 Olympic qualifying tournaments/meets probably won’t be announced by each individual country for another 2-3 years.
