Burke and Hare Haunting's
We begin your tour at 10pm when you will meet our team (meeting point detailed below), from here you will be taken on the tour which will last around an hour and 30 minutes. The Burke and Hare murders (also known as the West Port murders) were serial murders perpetrated in Edinburgh, Scotland, from November 1827 to 31 October 1828. The killings were attributed to Irish immigrants William Burke and William Hare, who sold the corpses of their 17 victims to provide material for dissection. Their purchaser was Doctor Robert Knox, a private anatomy lecturer whose students were drawn from Edinburgh Medical College.
On the tour you will visit the site where the killers lived and where they committed 17 chilling murders, learn about 'Graverobbers' with a visit to Greyfriars Kirkyard and how Burke and Hare beat these gangs to provide the freshest corpses for the Medical School and hear about the gripping trial and how one of the men were the focus of Scotlands largest attended execution. Following on from the tour we will then meet you back at The Mercat Cross where we will then take you onto Niddry Street Vaults for a Ghost Hunt you will never forget!
It is rumored that in the 1820s, the infamous serial killers William Burke and William Hare lurked within the vaults, killing some of their 17 victims. With dozens of other deaths due to disease and crime, the vaults under South Bridge remain one of the world's most haunted places. Experience the mystery of the South Bridge and Niddry Street on our special ghost hunt.

The Niddry Street Vaults Haunting's
The vaults are said to be a hive of paranormal activity. The Vaults featured on Most Haunted and Most Haunted Live and the team witnessed a high level of activity. People have complained of feeling sick and dizzy and many have had to leave rooms due to the high intense atmosphere, this is certainly not an event for the faint hearted!
Sightings in the Vaults include a spirit of a male who has been dubbed 'The Watcher', the man was mistaken on one tour as being the tour guide! People have been sick in the Pagan Temple and the ghost of a small boy has been documented as being seen on 19 separate tours of the Vaults!
Some visitors have complained of their skin burning whilst on tours and cold spots on their bodies! The experience is not advised for those of nervous disposition. Numbers are limited so book early to avoid disappointment. If the thought of an overnight vigil with the spirits in the Vaults is too much, this may be the experience for you.
