Trust me you don’t want a budget hotel. Hotels are very different from USA hotels. Stay at the Holiday Inn. My son and I stayed at a off the wall hotel recommended by a travel thing on online. I can’t begin to tell you how bad it was. For a little bit more money ( less than 15 bucks ) we felt like a king and queen at the Holiday Inn. Also, thats where all the pilots and stewardesses stay too from the airports.
Hotels around Russell Square tube station are quite cheap, pretty new and well comunicated.Hotels in London are expensive and old.
We liked it in the Paddington Station area. There are several decent, not too expensive hotels there. We stayed at the Lancaster Court Hotel on Sussex Gardens (street). A nice old building, no fancy bells and whistles, but a nice place to sleep at night and have a quick breakfast in the morning. And Paddington is super easy to get to from Heathrow on the Heathrow Express. Enjoy!
All the tourist hotels will have some drawbacks. One main tip – avoid Earl’s Court, and the area round Victoria Coach Station. You can negotiate a good deal for any of the hotel chains using the online bidding services. It is easy and you can save 000s.
