Goalie Scurry retires, anchored ’99 World Cup team
BOYDS, Md. (AP) — Longtime U.S. national team goalkeeper Briana Scurry is retiring from soccer. Scurry made the announcement Wednesday. She spent this season on the roster of the Washington Freedom of Women’s Professional Soccer, but she played in only one game because of lingering effects from a concussion.
