We’ve been at Escapade Recording Studios in Greenwich, South London since early last month recording material for a new CD. Andy Smythe; vocals & guitar, Les Elvin; bass, Barry Targett, guitars/violins This is Andy’s song ‘Kids’ being recorded live. The drumming is from Guy, just out of shot to the left of the picture. The harmonica is from Al, and has been dubbed over. This track is yet to be mixed and mastered – just a rough mix synchronised against the video. I have more video footage I hope to assemble into a bit of a documentary of the making of the record, but I thought you might like this little bit of a preview. The record is shaping up well, and I think we’re all pretty excited about it’s progress. We have some quite large string section arrangements accompanying Andy’s broad range of styles through some of the songs. Gary Brady, of Escapade has been a great help in production on many of the arrangements. I play violin on much of the record, but I’m allowed a little indulgence on guitar! The record is due for release this summer, with a South London launch party and some extra local shows planned.
