@gchhour No. Actually, even Beijing natives would say that the best Chinese food in the world is in Hong Kong. Even the western food there is good.

  4. revolversmoke says:

@gchhour Yea it is though its not the healthiest either.

  5. christpunchers says:

Locals do not eat the weird stuff, anyone who thinks it’s common diet is probably a tourist. Not that there’s anything wrong with having a bug every now and then but it’s a huge tourist trap.

  7. xLossage says:

@gchhour – beijing, due to opuim wars and stuff beijing isnt that good, shanghai is better in china in my opinion, but beijing is still good.

and i like hong kong, its rich due to lots of money from china (through opium) was used to build hong kong more.

Do you guys know? The local people in Beijing never eat those strange food like scorpions, those strange foods are for tourists, especailly for foreigners whom believe Chinese eat everything. :)

  12. DarthVaderVoldemort says:

  13. blogegog says:

He said, “the chinese are not shy about flavor”. What the hell does that mean? Is anyone shy about flavor? What he should have said was, ‘the chinese are not shy about eating parts of things that everyone else on the planet throws in the garbage. ‘

  14. travelwebnyc says:

@mengyl You are right. These few chinese who eat all these ugly stuff are giving the majority of nomal Chinese a bad name;& these few retarded chinese are either from very poor families who had no decent food to eat while they grew uo, or they have erectal dysfunction, premature ejaculation,or other sexual dysfunction, thinking eating these weird creatures will give them the man power. SHAME!

  15. RepoDemo says:

@Hunkola what are you talking about it’s a case of taste and has nothing to do with famines or revolutions. thats why it’s still eaten today if it was just because of the famines and reolutions then why are chinese still eating these things today. it a delicacy like snails in france and aligator in southern usa. stop being an angry little person.

  16. orioncheung says:

damn, i was hoping he say chicken lol.

  17. Hunkola says:

    If you have a country with 1. 4 billion people. . . . . . . . . you cant afford to be picky about what gets eaten. . . . . . . . crickets and scorpions probably kept many Chinese alive during the harsh Communist years of oppression. . . . . . . . . do you stupid Westerners ever think about that ??

  18. arabgirl66 says:

    awesom nice country

  19. TheFuckengland says:

  20. ulleule says:

chinese people who eats dogs are a very little part of china, but i mean why should dogs been threated diffrent than cows and pigs? just because westernes have a diffrent view on it. .

  21. 0112337 says:

I am a Beijinger, now, trust me, real Beijingers NEVER buy those crazy foods like crickets or scorpions. If we do, it’s like a once in a life time sort of thing. Just to try something new.

I think they have it there specifically for foreigners.

  22. rpottsch says:

my Chinese friend says that there are 5 main styles of food in China. . . you eat a certain style depending on where you live and there is a style in which they eat dogs and other stuff. . . . BUT he says that most Chinese dont. . . it just where that style originates that they do

  23. Evilsinder says:

  25. hisphoninesss says:

The Dalai Lama says he wants Tibetan autonomy and political independence. Yet he allows himself to be used as a tool by western powers keen to humiliate China. Between the late 1950s and 1974, he is alleged to have received around $15,000 a month, or $180,000 a year, from the CIA. He has also been, according to the same reporter, remarkably nepotistic, promoting his brothers and their wives to positions of extraordinary power in his fiefdom-in-exile in Dharamsala, northern India
