Yeah I love it. I get a smooth feel when I use it. They also had a art of shaving store right by them and I got me there whole product kit and safety razor. So I switch to traditional wet shaving. THANKS TO YOU AND YOUR TIPS.

  3. mantic59 says:

@nobleox66 yes, actually i have tried some origins products. I like their pre-shave products but I wasn’t too crazy about the shave gel.

  4. nobleox66 says:

    Mantic59 question for you.
Have you heard or used Origins products. They have products for men (pre shave oil, and shave cream). It works great.

SLS is only dangerous in high concentrations or prolonged exposure to it. There is a greater risk of causing damage while shaving than there is by putting some conditioner on and rinsing it off 10 minutes later. Ask another chemist if you don’t believe me

@HerbalAbuse Nothing can possibly moisturize your face better than water (or a heavily water based solution). If you have time, the best thing to do is to let your face dry without using a towel on it. The minute that it is relatively dry, apply the moisturizer. Your skin should have a maximum level of water in it at that point, and the moisturizer will “lock it in. ” That’s the best way to do it for optimum results.

Like I already said, commerical shampoos and conditioners do encourage hairloss and are hazardous to the scalp. You should be taking extra special care of your face to avoid premature aging and skin damage, not lathering a product containing Sodium Lauryl Sulfate all over it. And I’m not worried about your face going bald, I’m worried about skin damage to the face. You don’t have facial expressions on your scalp.

  8. Sviolinist says:

@Lewis1985 Regardless of what conditioner is “designed” to do, the conditioner will make contact with the skin on your scalp (beneath the hair) – which is dermis, just like on your face. If (like you said) conditioner “{expletive deleted} your face” – then it stands to reason that it will ruin your scalp and make you bald as well. This is logic, pure and simple. Philosophy 101, really. If you don’t get what I am saying, then I’m afraid I can’t explain it any more clearly.

  9. Sviolinist says:

@HerbalAbuse The whole idea is to shave with your face as wet as possible – so yes, drying the face is a no no (no no no).

  10. Lewis1985 says:

@Sviolinist It’s a product designed for your hair, not your face. I don’t see how the two are related. And yes, you shouldn’t be using them on your scalp, you only have to do a very small amount of research to find out that commerical shampoos are extrememly detrimental to your health. Using them on your face is just insanity. But each to their own.

  11. Sviolinist says:

@Lewis1985 Lol. You’re probably right. I’m not denying anything that you just said. However, with that logic, you shouldn’t use it on your scalp either. If it screws your face up, it will make you go bald (and screw your scalp up too in general). So, if it’s good enough for your head, it’s good enough for your face. End of story =).

  12. Lewis1985 says:

Dude you have some good tips, but using conditioner on your face is a terrible idea. The chemicals in that sh1t will fuck your face up. I shave with oilive oil and a saftey razor. My skin Owns.

  13. HerbalAbuse says:

Ah sorry I think you misunderstood, I meant AFTER the shave, is it better to apply moisturizer when the skin is dry, or moist?
But it was me that misunderstood about moisturizer, I haven’t been using it for that long (about a year) and thought it MADE your skin moist, but I read a short while ago that it keeps moisture in, which explains why applying it to a moist face is correct, I was just wrong assuming it actually put moisture into the skin all this time lol my skin feels a lot better now

  14. mantic59 says:

HerbalAbuse- I figure why dry the face if you’re just going to wet it down again to shave.

  15. TlGBC says:

maybe, but i’m glad he and his videos exist, cause i share an interest in this

  16. HerbalAbuse says:

Why do you not dry your beard area after a shower? I noticed in your other video you didn’t dry your face after you shaved in the sink (when you used witch hazel) why is that? Is it better for your skin to leave it moist?
Also, is it better to use moisturizer after your shave when your skin is moist, or dry? I have always patted my face with a towel until it is bone dry then apply moisturizer and that’s all I do, is that wrong?

  17. MrSmudger687 says:

Heya Mantic. I unfortunately have a rough beard with sensitive skin, consequently I get regular shaving rash. I’ve started using a Merkur HD with derby blades and real shaving company shave cream which I brush on for 5 minutes. I’ve even tried the superlather idea, to no avail. I’ve heard that shaving oil helps, so I thought I should get an informed opinion on which -if any-to get. I’m aware that it could also be my technique, but I don’t get a close shave unless I go against the grain :S Thanks

mantic59 – No I don’t take any prescription medicines at all. So, probably as you said time will heal it. Thanks for your response and great help with the videos.

  23. mantic59 says:

pramamoo- Do you take any prescription medications? I’ve gotten those marks too, but they’re due to medicine I have to take. Otherwise they should disappear over time.

  24. pramamoo says:

    Hello mantic59,
Thanks for all your videos. Nowadys I shave with Merkur HD and no skin irritation, razor burns or rashes. Those were perennial problems ever since I started to shave. Art of Shaving is boon in my life. Although I have one question. I have these dark patches (like marks) on skin, over the neck area. Those were the places where I used to get rashes everytime. Nowadays no rashes, but looks like they have left a mark. Any suggestions to get rid of them? Thanks for your time.

  25. koabarra says:
