I’m Dana Ward coming to you from Hollywood… and even all of the way over on this side of the pond, we were tuning in to the Royal Wedding. So just incase you missed out or you just want to get the dish about the wedding gown, here we go. Kate Middleton wore a gown by Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen. It featured a long sleeved lace applique over a sweetheart opaque bodice. In fact, we hear that the hand-worked pattern included daffodil, rose, thistle and shamrock shapes. The skirt design is said to take on silhouette inspiration from an open flower, with an underskirt for added volume as well as a bit of padding in the hip area to follow a signature McQueen styling. One interesting design tidbit comes from The Huffington Post, saying that the workers stitching the motifs washed their hands every 30 minutes in order to keep the lace and threads perfect, plus, the needles were renewed every 3 hours. Also, according to THP, Kate or now known as Princess Katherine wore a Cartier halo tiara — lent to her by The Queen — for keeping in place her silk tulle with hand-embroidering veil. @ Animesis I totally agree! for some reason I thought only Americans were here, but then I realized that there are people from all over the world here. I am an American ut my main family roots are in Germany and the rest of Europe many preetty! I think it’s stupid that people argue which is better
