Nadal surprised by ‘in decline’ query

Unexpected questions of our time. Having just won in straight sets, world No.1 Rafael Nadal was slightly bemused to be asked at his press conference if he was a player in decline.

Not to be prejudiced but is there someone out there who is not happy with having Rafa as No. 1 in the world? It is almost as if everyone wants to have Nole as the best player. Sort of reminds me when Dinara Safina was No. 1 even though Serena was winning all the big tournaments. Something quirky about the ranking system!!
