Will airport security allow a carry-on bag with a pack of cigarettes inside?

I’m flying to London tomorrow and will be In Their transit for a while, so I am wondering if a pack of cigarettes will cause a problem at security. And I will not be taking a lighter, obviously. Oh and will I have to take it out or leave it in? Thank you.

If you quit smoking, you will not have to worry about it. Seriously, though, You Should quit. Sincerely, Random stranger who cares about your health.

Should you call the airline or ask in the terminal, Although I doubt they’ll take it away from, i think its ok. although You Should just buy some in london, Because there is no point in bringing cigarettes on the plane if you’re not allowed to smoke onboard anymore, unless your airline permits it.
