PostHeaderIcon Do You Think That London 2012 Opening Ceremony Will Be The Same Standard As China’s? ?

I don’t really care as long as we fake the fireworks on a and dub the singing because the singer was not pretty enough. The Olympics are a great sporting event, a symbol of justice and honest competition. Cheating whether in the events or the presentation is not my idea of what it should be about.

Being from London, I certainly hope it will be as good if not better.
They certainly know how to through a new year fireworks party well.
I just hope that the organisers don’t mess it up like that dome fiasco.
We do not have to spend more to provide a better opening event, so long as they think it through properly and and get the details right then we should be up to hosting a successful event.
Although often enough if you do through more money at something you NEARLY always get better results.

Yes – as I expect the UK to have more integrity than China when hosting the games in general.
The UK has a good reputation throughout the world, so I doubt they will resort to fake digital fireworks on TV broadcasts and getting a ‘pretty’ girl to stand and mime at the opening ceremony because the little girl with the amazing voice was deemed ‘too ugly’ to be seen on TV, just to make themselves look good.

No, there is absolutely no way they can afford to spend that kind of money, which is controlled. And watching Seb Coe on TV this morning being asked pretty much the same question he said that it will be good, unique, and funny, whatever that means but it will not be in the ball breaking amounts of money lavished by the Chinese.

No because we don’t have enough money, and besides, we don’t need a huge opening ceremoney to cover up the fact that we’ve been cheating like China. We’re a tiny island. I’d find it strange if anybody expected us to better China’s.
