Good point.
Ever since the Y2K and 6/6/6 (June 6, 2006) End of the World scenarios did not pan out, the scare mongers have been touting the 2012 End of the World scenario. When 2012 does not happen either, I am sure they will think of something else.
“But of that day or hour, no one knows, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be watchful! Be alert! You do not know when the time will come.” (Mark 13:32-33)
Jesus told us in no uncertain terms that we were not to know when the end of the world would come but that we were always to be ready.
The early Christian Church thought that Jesus was going to return at any moment. Only after a couple of centuries did the Church realize that it may be 2,000 or 4,000 or 8,000 years before Jesus returns.
The Catholic Church wisely follows Jesus’ advice and teaches that each of us should live as if we will meet our maker in the next ten minutes and that we need to work to make the world a better place for our 100 X great-grandchildren.
Do not worry about the end of the world. Trust God to make sure everything happens to plan. Just be ready to meet God at any time.

You are correct. At least somebody here is smart enough to believe the will not end 2012 or on Wednesday. That is what I try to exactly tell these people and those who are afraid of something completely unproven fact.
If the world were going to end Wednesday or 2012 we would have known a long time ago. Throughout history these predictions have been made but, they never happened. All the scientific facts they try putting together don’t seem accurate.
You know what is sad? People may get so afraid of this and commit suicide or become unwise and spend all there money they have and then get into horrible debt. Then the world doesn’t end and these unwise people and those who lost somebody to death over all this end of the world stuff will suffer the consequences like depression, or being flooded with debts and bills.
Well lets think about it, if the world ends 2012 the mayan calendar was correct and who knows a new life may form or the entire planet will be blown to bits, and a new calendar may be created (just a thought).. or if it doesn’t end 2012 the mayan calendar was either wrong or they may have just stopped their because no more room (because a 2d spiral can’t possibly go on forever, it comes to a point and mysteriously that point is 2012 !).. and on wednesday it will not kill us all, all we are doing is doing a tiny experiment which may cause a nuclear reaction, the worst case scenario is a 10 mile radius will… well.. die! But it is in the middle of knowhere.. I know this because.. well, i’m from the inside..
It could end on Weds if this experiment goes wrong personally I do not know why anyone would risk anything like this just to find something out, regardless how far fetched the odds are, point being the odds are still there and if the odds are still there then the possibility of it happening is still in place.
2012 mmm the Myan calander, fairly accurate up till now, closest encounter we are ever expected to have with an Asteroid due then (dunno how the myans could have predicted that) and the second part of this experiment is due (dunno how the Myans could have predicted that either)
We never know for sure when it’s going to end. The thought is 12/21/2012 is when it’ll end as that’s what the Mayan calendar goes to. Warning signs in that natural disasters have been increasing. The major earthquake in China last may. Hurricane Fay. Hurricane Katrina.
No one knows for sure. Live your life to the fullest incase it ever happens.
The world isn’t going to end in 2012. That idea is based on a calendar made by the mayans years and years ago. There’s no proof that it will happen. It’s a religious belief.
There is absolutely NO PROOF what ever that the world is going to end Wed or in 2012
The only one who knows when it will end is God the Father. Not even Jesus knows when it will happen. Read your Bible
There are many crazy predictions – it will just happen when it’s ready to happen, not when some scaremonger says so. It doesn’t help that we now have the technology to blow us to kingdom come anyway.
I think I have missed something here……. I was unaware the World was going to end on Wednesday! Also, I believe there is no proof that it will in 2012 either?
