Crumbling hospitals, sub-standard schools, not enough medical staff, closure of medical facilities ….. How much will the 2012 London Olympics actually cost, for just a few weeks’ worth of television coverage and some smug pats on the back for the organisers (all banking on OBEs later on). If London is supposed to benefit from new roads, housing, etc., then why don’t we just build this infrastructure without all the associated…

That’s a tough one….it’ll be way different, because of the two distinct cultures. I’m not sure “better” would be a way to describe it.

China have done an excellent job, I doubt that we can top it. I’m sure I heard Seb Coe -oops, Lord Coe, say that there were one hundred folk in China to oversee the games and see if they could learn anything from the Chinese. Jings, what a waste of our cash!!
