Follow the early life of Santa Claus, from his being abandoned in the forest and adopted by the wood-nymphs, making the very first toys to his final quest for immortality. Find out why we hang stockings, why he climbs down the chimney and meet the original reindeer Glossie and Flossie as well as the chilly rogue Jack Frost. With original music and lots of audience participation this is a wonderful seasonal show from Artsdepot and Big Wooden Horse, creators of venue favourites The Night Before Christmas and Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!

Hundreds participate in Special Olympics event
Jackson Elementary School third-graders Xheneta Ahmeti, Hunter Giles and Alex Markie set their feet on the line and their eyes on the flag, held by a volunteer giving the signal to begin the 50-meter run. Xheneta wanted to win, but Hunter had been beating her in practice at their Henrico County school. The flag went down, and all three dashed toward the finish line.

Following his first UK arena tour, James Morrison has announced he will be performing live at Harewood House, Leeds on Friday 9 July.

His debut album, ‘Undiscovered’, established him as an undeniably talented singer-songwriter, selling more than 2million copies and yielding five singles – 'You Give Me Something', 'Wonderful World’, 'The Pieces Don’t Fit Anymore', 'Undiscovered' and 'One Last Chance'.

James was the biggest selling British male solo artist of 2006 and won a Brit Award winner for Best Male in 2007.  And his No 1 second album, ‘Songs For You, Truths For Me’ continues the success of his first and is still in the charts more than a year after its release, including hit singles ‘You Make It Real’, 'Please Don't Stop The Rain' and 'Broken Strings'.

Concert information: No seating or shelter is provided in the concert arena.  No glass or plastic bottles will be allowed into the arena.  This is not a picnic concert.  Refreshments, including catering and bars will be available on site.  Please note that juveniles (under 14 yrs old) must be accompanied by and be in the care of an Adult (18 yrs old min), and there is a maximum of four juveniles in the care of one adult. Infants (under 5 yrs old) are admitted free of charge.  Support acts to be confirmed. 

Concert Arrangements: Gates open at 5pm. Concert will commence at 7.00pm, main act 8.45pm and end at approx 10.00pm.

Parking: Car parking is available on site free of charge – please follow the directional signage. Car Parks open from 4pm.

Champions are crowned in every sport and in horseracing it happens more frequently than anywhere else at Newmarket, the historic Home of Racing, where many of the greatest racehorses ever to grace the turf have staked their claim to immortality.

The Emirates Airline Champion Stakes, one of two sizzling Group 1 contests on the day, was won in 2009 by the Henry Cecil-trained Twice Over, who went on to finish a fine third to Zenyatta in the Breeders' Cup Classic, while in 2008 the year's top-rated three-year-old, New Approach, triumphed in devastating fashion. 

French stars Literato and Pride took the previous two runnings and in 2010 it is sure to attract once again some of Europe's middle distance superstars chasing the last big prize in the European season.  It is a race that really matters.

The Jumeirah Dewhurst Stakes is the other Group 1 centrepiece and is invariably contested by the most promising juvenile racehorses, looking to secure the crown of Europe's champion two-year-old.

The winner often winters as the favourite for the following year’s opening Classic, the stanjames.com 2000 Guineas, staged back at the Rowley Mile. In the past, such greats as The Minstrel, El Gran Senor, Zafonic and Rock Of Gibraltar have all triumphed in the Dewhurst Stakes on a day when there is always a sense of history in the making.

There is a stunning supporting card, too. For example, the growing stature of the Lotus Evora Rockfel Stakes is illustrated by the fact that its respective 2005 and 2006 winners, Speciosa and Finsceal Beo, came back to the Course of Champions the next year to race to glory in the Stan James-sponsored 1000 Guineas.

As some may or may not know “Doomsday” is upon us. Well some people believe that theory to be true while other laugh. That’s why I ask the question who believes in 2012 being the last year of existence. Let me just brief everyone who doesn’t know. On December 21, 2012 the apparent “Doomsday” will occur. Don’t just throw this off as a Conspiracy Theory just yet.

The Mayans have a calendar set hundreds of years ago, and there clock keeps going on today eventhough the Mayans were killed years ago. On December 21, 2012 is when their calendar stops (or resets). The Mayans were also respondible for closely depicting events like both World Wars. Still don’t believe me. Einstein is quoted in saying (im paraphrasing), Everything on Earth is run by clocks. What happens when everything triggers at the same time? This theory traces back to when Einstein collectively figured out all of Earth plates and faults could and might move/trigger all at once, causing mass earth-quakes and volcanoes.

Still don’t believe me. In the “Bible” it is stated that “God” will not end the world by water anymore but by fire, (Einsteins theory). Lastly Nostradamus the great predictor, who correctly prediction Adolf Hitler raising to power and both World Wars, first depicts a third World War, and it will be started by a third-world country (Iraq/Afghanistan). Also depicts the end of the world as being full of fire and power (War). My take on the whole “2012″ theory is that I believe it will happen, so if I’m wrong, the rest of my life from December 22, 2012 will be gravy.
